DTN COMMENTS:  A light trade is being reported in Kansas at $230, $6 
higher than last week's weighted average. A few deals are also being 
reported sold in parts of Nebraska at $355, $12 higher than last week's 
weighted average.

A light to moderate trade did indeed take place in parts of the North 
yesterday (NE 16,926 head; IA 23,219 head) with live deals sporting a 
range of $350 to $355. It looks like most deals were done around $352 to 
$354, $9 to $11 higher than last week's weighted average basis Nebraska.

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 358.94 -0.42, select 345.65 
+0.77) with moderate box movement (52.95 lds of choice cuts, 9.31 lds of 
select cuts, 40.08 lds of trim, and 11.42 lds of ground). Cattle futures 
at this time are sharply higher on both live and feeder contracts.
